Want to speak at a city council meeting? It’s easier than you might think—and your voice matters. Here’s how to do it.

  1. City Council meetings take place at City Hall (200 N Walker Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73102) Tuesdays at 8:30am. Before you go, check out the Public Meeting Calendar at OKC.gov.

  2. Enter City Hall from the south side of the building.

  3. Council Chamber is on the 3rd floor. You can take the stairs or the elevators.

  4. To speak on an agenda item or during the ‘residents to be heard’ portion of the meeting, stop by the table outside the chamber to fill out a form.

  5. City staff can help you identify agenda items or assist you with filling out the form to speak.

  6. The Council Chamber is equipped with hearing loop technology if you need it.

  7. When it’s your turn to speak, the Mayor will call you to the podium. You will have three minutes to speak.

  8. Parking:

    • Parking is available at the Sheridan and Walker Garage (501 W. Sheridan). To validate your parking, visit the Office of the Mayor and City Manager on the 3rd floor of City Hall.

    • You can also park at the Arts District Garage (431 W. Main).

    • Embark routes 009, 012, 013, 014, 016, 040 provide access to City Hall.

    • There’s an OKC Streetcar stop across the street from City Hall at the Downtown Library.

    • You can also pay for on-street parking.

Write to be heard

Lawmakers might not read every message personally, but their staff keeps track—and volume matters. Whether you're writing on your own or hosting a group, letters and emails are a simple, effective way to show where you stand and push for change.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
